Troopers getting groceries to Schoolcraft County residents in need

MANISTIQUE, MI--   Michigan State Police in Gladstone and Manistique are helping to get food to Schoolcraft County residents who can't pick up groceries themselves.

Troopers say the “Stay Home, Stay Safe” directive brought to light a real need in the community. They have partnered with Jack’s grocery store in Manistique, which has a program for ordering groceries and supplies. Officers say there are occasions where particularly elderly citizens were unable to get the groceries or any means of help in picking them up. Troopers have assisted in delivering a number of grocery orders for those unable to help themselves.

State Police will continue providing assistance as needed until the stay home order is lifted.

If you urgently need assistance and have no other means of help, call Jack’s Monday through Friday between noon and 6 p.m. at 906-341-8070.
