Two vehicles collide in Negaunee Township

NEGAUNEE TOWNSHIP, MI--   Only minor injuries are reported in a two-vehicle crash in Negaunee Township.   

Michigan State Police say Monday around 5 p.m. a vehicle driven by Denise Arbelius, 45, of Palmer was trying to cross the eastbound lanes of US-41 to travel south on M-35.  She pulled into the path of an eastbound vehicle driven by Anthony Lackey, 48, of Marquette.

Lackey was taken to UP Health System Bell for treatment of minor injuries.  Arbelius was cited for failing to yield the right-of-way.         

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
