UPDATE: Man hit by car in Marquette

UPDATE 7/1 4:10pm - Marquette Police have identified the victim as 51-year old Harlan Wayne Lamb... and the driver of the car as 34-year old Jed Tyner.

Marquette Police Accident reconstruction officers are continuing their investigation and are awaiting toxicology reports.

MARQUETTE, MI--   Police are investigating a car-pedestrian accident that injured a Marquette man. 

City officers say the crash happened Friday around 10:20 p.m. on South Front Street at Genesee.  A 51-year-old man was crossing the street and a northbound vehicle in the curb lane had slowed for him, but another northbound vehicle  driven by a 34-year-old Eben man in the other lane was unable to stop and hit the pedestrian. 

The man was taken to Marquette General Hospital with what are described as severe injuries. 

No other information is available at this time. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
