UPDATE: One killed in Escanaba car-motorcycle collision

UPDATE, 7/27/15:  The rider of the motorcycle has been identified as 55-year-old Glenn Nicholas White.  The driver of the Ford Explorer is 51-year-old Amy Beth Deiter.

Officials say the accident was intersection-related and remains under investigation.

ESCANABA, MI--   A motorcyclist has been killed in a crash with a vehicle in Escanaba. 

Public Safety officers say it happened Friday around 9:55 p.m. at the intersection of Ludington Street and 30th Street North. 

The driver of the motorcycle was taken to OSF St. Francis Hospital and declared dead on arrival.  The driver of the vehicle sought her own treatment of minor injuries.

No other details about the accident are being released at this time. 

The Delta County Sheriff’s Department and Michigan State Police from the Gladstone Post assisted at the scene. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
