MARQUETTE, MI--   Executives from five U.P. companies have graduated from a program that provides international growth strategies.

Developed by the U.S. Department of Commerce, ExporTech is a national program designed to help manufacturers and service-based companies expand into global markets. It features three day-long workshops spanning ten to 12 weeks. Training and individualized mentoring is provided from a range of experts on topics including export financing, payment risk, compliance, sales and distribution, and country selection.

The five companies that successfully completed ExporTech Upper Peninsula are Great Lakes Sound and Vibration of Houghton, Hiawatha Log Homes of Wetmore, Pettibone of Baraga, Race Ramps of Escanaba, and REL, Inc. of Laurium.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
