UPSET nabs two in Houghton for drug distribution

HOUGHTON, MI--   The Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team arrested two men on drug charges in Houghton Thursday.

Detectives began an investigation into a suspect two months ago. They say they developed probable cause to show he was involved in the distribution of heroin and crystal meth.

The 31-year-old Hancock man was arrested during a traffic stop in Houghton. The passenger, a 28-year-old man from Milwaukee, was also arrested. Officers say they discovered heroin, crack, and a digital scale after the traffic stop.

Both suspects were arrested on charges related to the distribution of heroin and crystal meth. Additional charges are pending.

Both remain lodged in the Houghton County Jail.
