UPSET seizes meth during Houghton County traffic stop

TWIN LAKES, MI--   A Houghton County man is jailed on meth charges, following a six-month investigation.

The Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team says the 34-year-old Painesdale man was arrested during a traffic stop near Twin Lakes Monday. During the stop approximately 8 grams of meth was seized.

The suspect was lodged at the Houghton County Jail for delivery of meth and possession with intent to distribute meth.

The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges and arrests are pending.

UPSET was assisted by the Houghton County Sheriff’s Office and Houghton City Police.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
