US-2 crash causes minor injuries

ESCANABA, MI--   One person had to be extricated from their vehicle, following a three-vehicle crash in Delta County. 

The Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened Tuesday around 8 a.m. on US-2 near M-69.  Two cars were behind a vehicle waiting to turn left onto 12th Road when another vehicle struck the stopped cars from behind.  The driver of the middle vehicle became trapped and had to be extricated by emergency personnel.

Two people were taken to OSF St. Francis Hospital with minor injuries. 

The Bark River First Responders, Bark River Township Fire Department, and Escanaba Public Safety Jaws of Life assisted at the scene.    

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
