Van strikes motorcycle in Gladstone

GLADSTONE, MI--   A motorcyclist was injured when a van hit the bike in Gladstone Sunday.

Gladstone Public Safety officers responded around 11:45 a.m. to the Krist Oil station parking lot on M-35 near 11th Street. They say a van driven by a 37-year-old Gladstone resident was pulling out of the lot when it hit a motorcycle northbound on M-35.

The 25-year-old Gladstone resident driving the motorcycle was taken to St. Francis Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The biker was wearing a helmet.

The van driver was issued a traffic citation.

The Delta County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
