Vencato pleads to drug charges

HOUGHTON, MI--   A Houghton County man arrested in a drug bust August 29 has entered a guilty plea in the case. 

Anthony Vencato, 52, of Atlantic Mine was taken into custody after UPSET detectives seized crystal meth and heroin at his home.  He pleaded guilty Monday to attempted possession of methamphetamine, punishable by up to five years in prison.

Sentencing will be held in four weeks in Houghton County Circuit Court. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
