UPDATE 8/17: Crews were able to create a perimeter around the fire, which was found to be about 10 acres in size. Firefighters mopped up hot spots and cleaned up the area.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
MARQUETTE COUNTY, MI-- Firefighters have responded to a 30-acre fire in Marquette County.
WLUC-TV reports the blaze is off M-28 near Kawbawgam Road.
Units from the Department of Natural Resources’ Wildfire Division are at the scene, along with several local fire departments.
Reports indicate the fire is staying on the ground, although it has reached a stand of jack pines.
