Woman airlifted to Green Bay following Breitung Twp. crash

BREITUNG TOWNSHIP, MI--   State Police from the Iron Mountain Post are investigating a three-vehicle crash in Breitung Township.

The lead vehicle had stopped to wait for a southbound vehicle to pass so it could turn left onto KO Swanson Drive when it was struck from behind by the second vehicle. The first vehicle was pushed off the roadway. The second vehicle veered into the oncoming lane and was hit in the passenger side by the southbound car.

The driver of the first vehicle was taken to Dickinson County Healthcare System, then airlifted to a Green Bay hospital for further treatment. The drivers of the other vehicles sought their own treatment.

The names of those involved have not yet been released.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
