Woman arrested for burning camper in Chippewa County

CHIPPEWA COUNTY, MI--   A Chippewa County woman has been arrested on an arson charge.

Michigan State Police from the Sault Ste. Marie post were called Monday to the scene of a structure fire on 10 Mile Road. They found a camper trailer completely engulfed in flames.

Troopers interviewed several people in the area. A 45-year-old woman was eventually arrested and charged with 2nd-degree arson.

The camper was a total loss.

The suspect remains lodged at the Chippewa County Jail.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
