Woman arrested for drunk driving crash, fleeing scene

IRON MOUNTAIN, MI--   An Iron Mountain woman is jailed, following a hit-and-run accident in the city Wednesday.

Officers say it happened around 3:30 p.m. on US-2 at the Ridgeview intersection. A westbound van driven by a 35-year-old woman rear-ended a pickup truck that was stopped at the light. Both drivers received minor injuries.

After the collision the driver of the van fled the scene and the pickup driver gave chase.

The woman was arrested for operating while intoxicated – 2nd offense, leaving the scene of an accident, and a probation violation. She remains lodged in the Dickinson County Jail, pending arraignment.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
