Workers to inspect Cut River Bridge next week

MACKINAC COUNTY, MI--   Drivers on US-2 in Mackinac County will encounter lane closures and brief delays next week during post-construction inspection of the Cut River Bridge.

Starting Monday one lane of alternating traffic will be open using temporary signals while Michigan Department of Transportation crews conduct hands-on inspections following the completion of a two-year structural steel repair and painting project on the bridge.

The work is expected to be completed on Thursday, September 26. The inspections are weather-dependent and may continue into Friday, September 27, if necessary. Inspections will be conducted from approximately 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. each day. Lanes will be cleared and traffic signals will be deactivated at the end of the work day.
