Would-be burglars arrested in Escanaba

ESCANABA, MI--   Two individuals were taken into custody this week before they could commit a crime during Escanaba’s power outage.

Public Safety Captain Jamie Segorski says during increased patrols Tuesday night officers apprehended 19-year-old Colton Marchbanks and a male minor.  Segorski says both had crowbars up their sleeves and masks in a bag.

Marchbanks is charged with carrying a concealed weapon and possession of burglary tools.

The minor’s name will not be released.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
