This annual awards ceremony honoring advocates of and performers and exhibitors in the Marquette arts community is being held tonight at the Arts & Culture Center in the lower level of Peter White Library, with a reception from 5-7 p.m., and the awards ceremony at 7 p.m.

Marquette Male Chorus "Songs of the 60s" Concert

The performance will be held Friday, May 17 at 7:30 p.m. in Redeemer Lutheran Church on West Fair Avenue in Marquette.

  Public Radio 90's Stan Wright talks with John Smolens, who is one of 42 poets and short story writers with a U.P. connection who are published in this new anthology, edited by Ron Reikki and published by Wayne State University Press. A public reading and discussion by many of these authors will be held Monday, May 20 at 7 p.m. in the Community Room of the Peter White Library in Marquette.

 Hans Ahlstrom speaks with NMU English department graduate student and assistant Alex Gubbins and Prof. Jason Markle about an upcoming anthology they are publishing. They are members of the U.P. Military Veterans Writers and Artists group, which encourages veterans to use writing and art to help in their transition back to civilian life. The anthology is called “A Time for Revision,” and it will feature work by veterans.
