ESCANABA, MI--   Congressman Jack Bergman will be the keynote speaker at a meeting in Escanaba to help companies negotiate federal and Department of Defense contracts. 

Wednesday’s “Arsenal of Innovation” event will provide an overview of the federal contract process. It will also discuss grant program assistance from the Michigan Defense Center.

Sponsored by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, the meeting takes place from 12:30 to 4 p.m. at Bay de Noc Community College.

ESCANABA, MI--   The Delta County Airport will offer Essential Air Service flights to Detroit for another two years.

Congressman Jack Bergman says the U.S. Department of Transportation has re-selected SkyWest Airlines—branded as Delta Connection—to serve Escanaba. The airport will offer 12 nonstop round trips per week to Detroit Metropolitan Airport using a 50 passenger Canadair regional jet.

The new, two-year contract runs from January 1, 2019 through December 31, 2020.

WASHINGTON, D.C.--   U.S. Senators Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) and Gary Peters (D-MI) as well as Representative Jack Bergman (R-MI) offered support of any request by the State of Michigan for federal assistance in responding to the widespread flooding that occurred following the heavy rainfall in Houghton and Menominee Counties. On Monday, Governor Snyder declared a state of disaster in Houghton and 

Menominee counties to make state resources available in the response and recovery effort.

MARQUETTE, MI--   Congressman Jack Bergman is holding two town hall meetings this month in the 1st District. 

The first takes place Wednesday, April 19 from 7 to 8 p.m. at Bay College in Escanaba. The second will be held Thursday, April 20 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at The Ellison Place in Gaylord.

For security purposes attendees will be required to show identification. Signs will not be permitted indoors, but may be displayed outside prior to the events.
