LANSING, MI--   The Wisconsin man charged for his alleged participation in a domestic terrorism plot that included storming the Michigan Capitol and kidnapping elected officials has been arraigned, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced today. 

GRAND RAPIDS, MI (AP)--   Prosecutors have added charges against three of six people accused of plotting to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.

Adam Fox, Barry Croft Jr. and Daniel Harris are charged with conspiring to use a weapon of mass destruction. It's related to a discussion to blow up a bridge near Whitmer’s second home in northern Michigan to hinder police. The role of the bridge in the alleged plot was disclosed by authorities months ago.

JACKSON, MI (AP)--   Three men have been ordered to stand trial in a plot to kidnap Democratic Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer over her coronavirus restrictions.

Jackson County District Court Judge Michael Klaeren on Monday ruled there was enough evidence and bound over Paul Bellar, Joe Morrison and Pete Musico to circuit court. They are accused of aiding six other men who are charged in federal court with conspiring to kidnap Whitmer. Five more people are also charged in state courts.

GRAND RAPIDS, MI--   One of six men accused of conspiring to kidnap Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer pleaded guilty to that offense today in federal court, U.S. Attorney Andrew Birge announced today.

Ty Gerard Garbin, of Hartland, Michigan, admitted his guilt in a change of plea hearing conducted by Chief United States District Court Judge Robert J. Jonker. The Court scheduled Garbin’s sentencing on July 8, 2021, at 3:00pm. He remains in the custody of the United States Marshal pending sentencing.

GRAND RAPIDS, MI (AP)--   A plea deal appears to be in the works for one of six men accused of conspiring to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.

Ty Garbin is scheduled for a change-of-plea hearing in Grand Rapids federal court next Wednesday.

The FBI in October said it broke up a plot to kidnap Whitmer by anti-government extremists upset over her coronavirus restrictions. Six people were charged in federal court in Grand Rapids. Separately, eight others were charged in state court with aiding the alleged scheme.

GRAND RAPIDS, MI (AP)--   A federal judge has set a March 23 trial date for six men charged with plotting to kidnap Michigan’s governor in what authorities say was a plot by anti-government extremists who were angry over her coronavirus policies.

Chief U.S. District Judge Robert Jonker in Grand Rapids set the date Friday. The six defendants face a conspiracy charge that carries a maximum penalty of life in prison.

WILMINGTON, DE (AP)--   A Delaware man charged with plotting to kidnap the governor of Michigan is asking to be released from prison as he awaits court hearings.

The News Journal in Delaware reports federal prosecutors say in court filings that Barry G. Croft Jr., is a “violent extremist” and that releasing him would be “unreasonable.” 

TRAVERSE CITY, MI (AP)--   A federal grand jury has indicted six men on charges of conspiring to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.

The men were arrested in October in what authorities describe as a plot by anti-government extremists angry over the Democratic governor's policies to prevent spread of the coronavirus. Five of the defendants are from Michigan and the other is from Delaware.

PORTAGE, WI (AP)--   A judge has ruled a Wisconsin man accused in a plot to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer should be extradited to Michigan, but he will be given a chance to appeal first.

Brian Higgins was allegedly part of a crew conducting surveillance of the governor’s vacation home for the kidnapping plot. He's charged with material support of an act of terrorism.

LANSING, MI--   Nearly two months after their arrest, court hearings are proceeding in the Michigan Department of Attorney General’s cases against members and associates of the Wolverine Watchmen, who face felony charges following law enforcement’s unveiling of an alleged domestic terrorism plot that included storming the Capitol building and kidnapping elected officials.

A bond hearing for two defendants – William Null, of Shelbyville, and Michael Null, of Plainville, both 38 – was held Wednesday in Antrim County 86th District Court before Hon. Michael Stepka.
