NMU Health Center

MARQUETTE, MI--   Officials say NMU’s health center could be notified any day now of its first impending shipment of COVID-19 vaccine.

When the doses are delivered 24 hours later, the university must store and administer the vaccine within a week. Staff and members of Northern’s COVID-19 response team have been meeting to prioritize eligible groups and plan the logistics of holding vaccine clinics at the Northern Center.

MARQUETTE, MI--   Northern Michigan University is getting ready to test students and employees for COVID-19 before the semester kicks off August 17.

During the Passport to Campus event August 3-16, the health center will perform molecular testing and everyone will get NMU-branded face coverings and/or their laptop and parking pass. The nasal swab samples will be processed and sent to a Chicago lab capable of analyzing large quantities quickly.
