MARQUETTE, MI--   Officials say NMU’s health center could be notified any day now of its first impending shipment of COVID-19 vaccine.

When the doses are delivered 24 hours later, the university must store and administer the vaccine within a week. Staff and members of Northern’s COVID-19 response team have been meeting to prioritize eligible groups and plan the logistics of holding vaccine clinics at the Northern Center.

MARQUETTE, MI--   The Marquette County Health Department is offering more COVID-19 vaccination clinics this week in Marquette for those 65 and older.

Clinics will take place Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Northern Center on NMU’s campus.

MARQUETTE, MI--   The Michigan Secretary of State office is holding a workshop in Marquette Thursday for those interested in serving on the new Michigan Independent Citizens Redistricting Commission.

Voters amended the state constitution last year to make residents responsible for drawing new district lines for the Michigan Legislature and U.S. Congress. The 13-member commission will consist of 4 Democrats, 4 Republicans, and 5 members not affiliated with either party.
