Fayette's historic hotel will feature musician and songwriter Steve Hooper from Under This Cold Sky productions. He will be there to help in the 60th Anniversary celebration of the Historical Fayette State Park, with a combination of traditional and modern folk styles that pay tribute to the land, the people and the folklore of the Upper Peninsula.

Kurt Hauswirth spoke again with Pasqua Warstler, Director of Gallery & Regional Projects at the Bonifas Arts Center, about ongoing gallery events and special October events as well. Events covered are the Night of Magic & Wizardry, ArtPrize, classes at the Bonifas, Northern Exposure and the Golden Age of Album Covers in the gallery.
ArtPrize displays art from far and wide, and in the case of the Upper Peninsula, represents life and artistic endeavours from a geographically remote region. Pasqua Warstler, the Artistic Director of the Bonifas Arts Center in Escanaba, Kathleen Conover, Marquette ArtPrize artist, and Tom Nemacheck, Director of the UP Travel and Recreation Association came together to discuss the importance of the UP's representation at ArtPrize.
Kurt Hauswirth spoke by phone with Pasqua Warstler, artistic director of the Bonifas Arts Center in Escanaba, MI, and Brian Kakas, associate professor of Art and Design at Northern Michigan University and ArtPrize artist, about "Crossing the Straits," a Mackinac Island ArtPrize 2018 Preview. The preview includes an exhibition and opening reception beginning Sunday August 12 on the island.
