RHINELANDER, WI (AP)--   Authorities say one person has been injured in the crash of a single-engine plane at the Rhinelander Airport. 

The Federal Aviation Administration says the single-engine Cessna 208 Caravan crashed, flipped over and came to rest between a taxiway and a runway Thursday morning. WJFW-TV reports airport director Matthew Leitner says the plane belongs to CSA Air in Michigan.

The airport was closed.

Rhinelander police confirm one person who suffered a head injury was taken to the hospital.

SAWYER, MI--   Two people are safe after their plane crash-landed near a field about five miles east of Sawyer International Airport Monday night.

Michigan State Police from the Negaunee Post say the crash site was on County Road 545 near Falstedt Road. The 48-year-old pilot says he lost engine power while in flight around 8:30 p.m. and had to make an emergency landing. He says he overshot a field he was aiming for, landed on CR 545, veered off the roadway and hit some trees.

The pilot and his 8-year-old son were located outside of the plane, uninjured.

CARP LAKE TOWNSHIP, MI (AP)--   Authorities have identified a pilot who died after a small plane crashed in a remote area of Ontonagon County. 

Officials have identified the pilot as 36-year-old Jack Maccani of Ironwood. He was pronounced dead at the crash scene.

A search began Saturday after the plane departed from the Gogebic County Airport but didn't arrive as scheduled at the Ontonagon Airport.

Cellphone location data helped locate the plane in a remote area of Carp Lake Township.

The NTSB said Saturday night it's begun an investigation into the crash of the Piper PA-28 in Ontonagon.

BREITUNG TOWNSHIP, MI--   A pilot escaped serious injury when his plane crashed in Dickinson County Saturday.

WLUC-TV says around 1:50 p.m. someone called 911 to report a Piper Super Cub had crash-landed on big Fumee Lake in Breitung Township. The caller said they were contacted by the pilot, who was walking to the lake’s parking lot.

BEAVER ISLAND, MI (AP)--   A sheriff says federal authorities have declined to investigate a small plane crash on a Lake Michigan island. 

The crash last weekend on Beaver Island killed Donald Falik, a 72-year-old pilot from Eaton County, near Lansing.

Charlevoix County Sheriff Charles Vondra says the Federal Aviation Administration has no plan to travel to northern Michigan, even when the government shutdown ends. He says he finds it "unusual."

BEAVER ISLAND, MI (AP)--   Officials continue to investigate the crash of a small plane on Beaver Island in Lake Michigan.

The Charlevoix County sheriff's office say an explosion was heard near the island's airport around 7:45 p.m. Sunday. The U.S. Coast Guard assisted authorities in locating the Piper twin-engine plane in a dense, wooded area.

The pilot was identified as Donald Falik, 72, of Charlotte, near Lansing. He was the only person aboard the plane.

Beaver Island is off the northwestern tip of the Lower Peninsula.

ST. IGNACE, MI (AP)--   The pilot who died in a weekend plane crash in Michigan has been identified as a Wisconsin man who was a Milwaukee-area prosecutor.

Ronald Dague was the only person aboard a plane that crashed in Lake Huron.

Authorities say the plane had departed an airport in St. Ignace on Friday night for a short flight to Mackinac Island. Plane debris has been found, but authorities still are looking for the pilot's remains.

ST. IGNACE, MI (AP)--   A small plane with one person aboard has apparently crashed in Lake Huron after failing to arrive at Mackinac Island.

The U.S. Coast Guard says the Piper Lance plane departed an airport in St. Ignace but didn't arrive at the island early Saturday. Lt. Dan Peters says a wing and other debris were found in Lake Huron.

The Mackinac County sheriff's office is leading the recovery.

ST. IGNACE, MI (AP)--   Authorities have positively identified a couple whose remains were recovered from the wreckage of a small plane that crashed more than 20 years ago in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

The Mackinac County Sheriff Scott Strait said Thursday the remains have been positively identified as those of missing couple Mark and Janet Davies.
