120 Nassar survivors call for Engler’s removal

Jun 20, 2018

EAST LANSING, MI (MPRN)--   Survivors of sexual assault want Michigan State University interim president John Engler gone.

More than 100 survivors of disgraced MSU sports doctor Larry Nassar called for Engler’s termination Tuesday.

The move stems from emails between Engler and an aide published by the Chronicle of Higher Education. In the emails, Engler said survivors are being manipulated by attorneys.

Hundreds of survivors are suing the school for failing to prevent Larry Nassar from abusing patients while he was on the faculty there.

LANSING, MI (MPRN)--   A new law extends the statute of limitations for victims of sexual assaults to file lawsuits, and for suspects to face prosecution.

It was signed Tuesday by Lieutenant Governor Brian Calley while Governor Rick Snyder is out of the country.

The legislation had an army of advocates behind it – the survivors of 20 years of sexual abuse by disgraced sports doctor Larry Nassar. But they also say the new law is not enough.
