ISHPEMING, MI--   Only minor injuries are reported in a two-vehicle accident in Ishpeming.  

City Police say the crash happened Wednesday around 12:15 p.m. on US-41 at Country Lane.  Officers say a Kia Sorento driven by Christina Anthony of Republic pulled out onto the highway from Country Lane and struck a westbound Chevy S-10 driven by Bradley Gurski of Munising.

Anthony was cited for failure to yield.  She and her passenger were taken to Marquette General Hospital for evaluation. 

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, MI--   Two people were injured in a traffic accident on Fair Avenue in Marquette Township Monday.  

Sheriff’s deputies say around 12:20 p.m. Lisa Wilcox, 52, of Big Bay was westbound near Granite Street when she lost control of her vehicle on the icy street.  Her Jeep slid sideways into the path of an eastbound Tahoe driven by Amanda Haile, 36, of Marquette.

Wilcox and her 91-year-old passenger were taken to Marquette General Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.  Haile and her passenger sought their own treatment. 

CHOCOLAY TOWNSHIP, MI--   Two people were injured in a head-on crash in Chocolay Township Tuesday. 

Police say the accident happened around noon on US-41 at the intersection of County Road 480.  A vehicle driven by Lennea Bressette of Chocolay Township was northbound when she tried to turn left onto CR480 and pulled into the path of a vehicle driven by Sharon Haynes, also of Chocolay Township. 

Haynes was taken to Marquette General Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.  Bressette sought her own treatment. 

ISHPEMING, MI--   Two people suffered injuries in an Ishpeming car accident Thursday.  

City Police say the crash happened around 3:30 p.m. on US-41 at the intersection of North Second Street.  A Ford Windstar driven by a 28-year-old Marquette woman was eastbound on the highway when a Chevy Aveo driven by a 53-year-old Ishpeming woman made a left turn in front of the van. 

Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

The Marquette County Rescue Unit was called in to help extract one of the injured people.  Officials say their injuries were non-life-threatening. 

BATES TOWNSHIP, MI--   Minor injuries are reported, following a two-vehicle crash in Iron County.  

Sheriff’s deputies say the accident happened Wednesday on US-2 at Bates Amasa Road in Bates Township.  They say Wilbert Krahn, 78, of Iron River pulled out onto the highway and into the path of a westbound vehicle driven by Donald Powell, 52, also of Iron River. 

Occupants of the Powell vehicle sought their own treatment for minor injuries.  Krahn was taken to Northstar Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.  He was cited for failure to yield.

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, MI--   Traffic on US-41 in Marquette Township had to be rerouted Friday morning following a two-vehicle accident.  

Sheriff’s deputies say the crash happened in front of Lowe’s around 7:45 a-m.  A Ford pickup driven by Clifford Dice, 51, of Bay City pulled out onto the highway from the Lowe’s driveway and into the path of a westbound Chevy driven by Neil Bonetti, 33, of Marquette. 

Bonetti was taken to Marquette General Hospital for evaluation of minor injuries. 

Dice was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way.

MARQUETTE, MI--   One person has been injured in a two-vehicle accident in Ishpeming.  

City Police say the crash happened Sunday around 2:30 p.m. on County Road 476 near Saginaw Street.  A 24-year-old woman was driving a pickup truck when she lost control of the vehicle.  The truck crossed the center line and hit a Chevy Blazer.

The driver of the Blazer was taken to Bell Hospital with minor injuries.  The driver of the pickup was ticketed for driving with a suspended license and driving too fast. 

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, MI--   A Marquette woman has been cited for causing a two-vehicle crash in Marquette Township.  

State Police from the Negaunee Post say the accident happened at 2:54 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of US-41 and Commerce Drive.

Rosalie Carlson, 53, of Marquette was westbound on US-41 when she failed to stop at a stoplight.  Her vehicle was struck on the passenger’s side by a Chevy Equinox driven by Marilyn Niemi, 79, of Marquette. 

No injuries were reported in the crash. 

Carlson was ticketed for failing to stop at a stoplight. 

NEGAUNEE, MI--   One person was injured in a two-vehicle crash in Negaunee Thursday. 

City Police say the accident happened around 9:53 a.m. at the intersection of Division and Rail streets.  Officers say a Honda Civic driven by Megan Korpi, 19, of Ishpeming was westbound on Rail Street and speeding when she failed to stop at a stop sign.  The car struck a northbound Jeep driven by Jack Anderson, 56, of Negaunee. 

Korpi was taken to Bell Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.  She was also cited for careless driving. 

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, MI--   Two people suffered minor injuries in a traffic crash in Marquette Township Tuesday.  

Sheriff’s deputies say the accident happened around 6:45 a.m. at the intersection of US-41 and Commerce Drive.  A Jeep driven by Logan Love, 17 of Marquette was traveling south through the intersection when it was hit by an eastbound truck driven by Robert Johnson, 25, of Negaunee.

Love and Johnson were taken to Marquette General Hospital and treated for minor injuries.  They were later released.

Johnson was cited for disregarding a red light.
