Marquette shows off car chargers

MARQUETTE, MI--   The city of Marquette is unveiling the newest feature of its Bluff Street parking structure.

Thursday at 11 a.m. officials will demonstrate the electric car charging stations installed during last fall’s $1.1 million renovation of the ramp.

Frei Chevrolet is providing a 2013 Chevy Volt—an electric hybrid vehicle—to show how the chargers are used.

The four charging stations are located on the southern side of the Bluff Street ramp’s lower level, with two on the eastern end and two on the western end.
