ESCANABA, MI-- Flights have resumed at the Delta County Airport.
A malfunction of the Airport Weather Observation System shut down operations Monday until Federal Aviation Administration personnel could diagnose the problem.
Officials say an antenna had moved over time, creating a less-than-optimal communication line to the main equipment. Airport administration and the FAA are working on moving the antenna to a more favorable position. Officials also want to establish a core group of weather observers as a back-up in case of future problems.
Flights resumed Tuesday.
