UPDATE: Portion of M-28 closed due to weather

UPDATE, 1/30/15--  M-28 was reopened as of 5 a.m. Friday.

MARQUETTE, MI--   From the Michigan State Police Negaunee Post:  

Effective 9:00PM EST:  A decision has been made by the Alger and Marquette Road Commissions in conjunction with the Michigan State Police, and Michigan Department of Transportation officials to close M-28 indefinitely between the City of Munising, MI and Kawbawgam Rd. in Marquette County.  

Due to High winds, poor road conditions and visibility M-28 will remain closed and be re-evaluated mid-day on 1/30/2015.
