___________
MARQUETTE, MI-- Whiteout conditions are wreaking havoc with roads along the Lake Superior shoreline.
Police have shut down a portion of South Front Street/US-41 between Shiras Hills in Marquette and Harvey because high winds and blowing snow have caused several accidents along the stretch. Conditions will be reevaluated later in the day Thursday.
Officials also closed M-28 from Munising to Marquette County’s Kawbawgam Road Wednesday night because of whiteouts.
