Negaunee standoff ends peacefully

NEGAUNEE, MI--   Police took a Negaunee man into custody following a several-hour standoff Wednesday.

According to ABC 10 the situation began on Cherry Street around 2 p.m. after police conducted a wellbeing check.  They tried to communicate with the resident through loudspeakers, but the man refused to come out. 

Police, their weapons drawn, surrounded the house, and around 4:30 p.m. the subject walked out of the residence and surrendered peacefully.
