Marquette changing traffic structure

MARQUETTE, MI--   The city of Marquette is prohibiting left turns from Baraga Avenue onto McClellan Avenue, in anticipation of traffic changes for the new hospital.

The city has been studying the intersection of McClellan and Washington Street and the McClellan Avenue corridor from Washington to US-41 to provide mitigation measures for traffic safety, turning movements, signal upgrades, and other traffic-related issues.

Beginning Monday the “no left turn” traffic control will go into effect. The warrant will stay in effect until November to gauge the level of safety improvements and guide officials in implementing permanent measures.
