MCMILLAN TOWNSHIP, MI (AP)-- Authorities say one snowmobiler was killed and another seriously hurt in a crash in Luce County.
Sheriff's Deputy Steven Kellogg said two groups of snowmobilers were riding a trail in McMillan Township Wednesday afternoon when the leaders from each group collided at a sharp corner.
Sheriff's officials say Timothy Hearld, 43, of Larwill, Indiana died at the scene. Joseph Brandel, 40, of Milford, Ohio was flown to a hospital in his home state with serious injuries.
Kellogg says Brandel suffered multiple broken bones and fractures, but medical officials told him Wednesday night that Brandel was expected to live.
