HIAWATHA TOWNSHIP, MI-- A Manistique man has been killed in a motorcycle accident in Schoolcraft County.
Michigan State Police from the Gladstone Post say the crash happened Saturday around 9 p.m. on State Road near M-94 in Hiawatha Township.
Markie Sumter, 52, was northbound when he lost control of the bike, left the roadway, and hit a tree. Sumter died of his injuries at the scene.
Troopers say Sumter was not wearing a helmet.
Alcohol and speed are believed to be factors in the crash.
