ARVON TOWNSHIP, MI-- A downstate man has been shot and killed with an arrow in Baraga County.
Sheriff’s officials say the incident happened October 6 in Arvon Township. Deputies responded to Baraga County Memorial Hospital around 8:30 a.m. They say Ross Fruin, 61, of Battle Creek had been shot with a crossbow.
The operator of the crossbow is identified as 65-year-old Randy Cole of Dowling, Michigan.
Fruin was taken to UPHS-Marquette, where he later died of his injuries.
Cole was cited for careless, reckless, negligent use of a bow and arrow causing injury or death.
The incident remains under investigation.
