ST. IGNACE, MI-- A downstate man was killed Saturday when his motorcycle struck an oncoming vehicle on the Mackinac Bridge.
Troopers from the St. Ignace Post say around 10:30 a.m. a 78-year-old Cheboygan man was northbound on a motorcycle when he crossed the center lane divider and struck an oncoming pickup truck. The pickup was driven by a 39-year-old man from Newberry.
The motorcycle driver died on the bridge. The truck driver and his occupants received minor injuries and were treated at the scene.
Alcohol and speed are not believed to be factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
