Judge in Delta County retiring

ESCANABA, MI--   A Delta County judge is stepping down after 23 years on the bench.

Circuit Court Judge Stephen Davis is retiring at the end of the year.  He’s dealt with more than 14,000 cases during his tenure.  He says he hopes to institute a drug court in Delta County before his term is up, as controlled substance crimes are consuming a lot more of the court’s time these days.

An election will be held to fill Davis’ seat once he hangs up his robe.
