Competency exam ordered for murder suspect

HOUGHTON, MI--   A forensic exam has been ordered for a Grand Rapids man accused of shooting and killing his half-sister in Laurium.

According to WLUC-TV Christian Paul Kitti, 32, will undergo the exam to determine if he’s competent to stand trial.  He’s charged with open murder and felony firearms in connection with the death of Kimberly Renee Bess, 44, who was found dead in a side yard of a residence July 24.

Police say alcohol was a factor in the incident.
