ESCANABA, MI-- Escanaba Public Safety has released the name of the gunman who barricaded himself inside a city apartment Tuesday night.
Officers say David Tebear, 54, initiated a standoff with police that lasted until 5:40 a.m. Wednesday. He was taken into custody without incident.
Tebear was arraigned Wednesday on the following charges:
- Malicious damage of property, $1,000 to $20,000
- Assault with a deadly weapon
- Felony firearms
- 2 counts of resisting and obstructing an officer
- Possession of a weapon with unlawful intent
Tebear remains lodged in the Delta County Jail on 10 percent of a $10,000 cash/surety bond for the malicious damage to property charge and $100,000 cash/surety for the remaining charges.
