MARQUETTE, MI-- Additional charges have been levied against a Gwinn man accused of sexually assaulting a girl younger than 13.
On October 7 Forsyth Township Police arrested Cory Pierce, 52, on five counts of possession of child sexually abusive material and five counts of using a computer to commit a crime. He was already lodged in the Marquette County Jail on a charge of second-degree criminal sexual conduct from a previous investigation.
Officers say when Pierce was first arrested July 27 they obtained a search warrant and seized computers and digital storage devices at his home. The additional charges stem from material found by the Michigan State Police 8th District Computer Crime Unit.
The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office also assisted in the investigation.
