UPHS-Marquette employee arrested for stealing medication

MARQUETTE, MI--   A Negaunee woman has been arrested for stealing drugs from UPHS-Marquette.

Marquette Police took Emily Barker, 26, into custody Tuesday on a seven-count warrant out of the Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office.

She’s charged with larceny in a building, four counts of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud, and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.

An investigation was launched when UPHS-Marquette reported missing medication. Barker is accused of stealing the medication while she worked at the hospital.

She was lodged at the Marquette County Jail on a $700,000 bond.
