Be on the lookout for counterfeit money, MPD says

MARQUETTE, MI--   The Marquette Police Department says it has received multiple reports of counterfeit $50 bills being passed in the city.

Notable on the fraudulent money is an additional print mark not present on a legitimate bill. Also, the bills lack a watermark, color-shifting ink, and an embedded security thread.

Police are reminding residents to inspect their currency for the proper markings.
