FORSYTH TOWNSHIP, MI— Forsyth Township Police continue to investigate a domestic violence incident last week that included torture.
On June 27 officers were called to the 100 block of Fury Street at Sawyer. Upon arrival, they learned the suspect, 33-year-old Branden Klyk, had fled the scene.
The Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office reviewed the case and authorized the following charges against Klyk:
- domestic assault—3rd offense
- two counts of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder
- unlawful imprisonment
- torture
- 1st-degree criminal sexual conduct
- malicious destruction of property
- larceny in a building
With the assistance of the State of Michigan Probation/Parole Division, officers found Klyk in Alger County. He turned himself in on Wednesday to the Marquette County Sheriff's Office.
Klyk remains jailed on a $280,000 bond.
