Violent domestic incident injures 2 Hancock residents

HANCOCK, MI— The Hancock Police Department is investigating an incident of domestic violence from over the weekend.

Saturday around 2:40 a.m., Negaunee Regional Dispatch received a 911 call of a person being assaulted.

Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Hancock Street. They found two people, who were taken to UPHS-Portage for treatment.

No other details about the incident are available.

Assisting at the scene were the Houghton Police Department, Houghton County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police, MTU Public Safety, Mercy EMS, and the Michigan State Police Crime Lab out of Marquette.
