Fire damages Iron Mountain home

IRON MOUNTAIN, MI— No injuries were reported from a house fire in Iron Mountain Friday.

The city fire department responded to 915 River Avenue just after 9 p.m. and found heavy smoke coming from the attic. All occupants of the house were able to get out.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the flames within 45 minutes, but crews remained at the scene to put out hot spots.

The house was rendered uninhabitable. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
