MARQUETTE, MI--   District 26 Senator Tonya Schuitmaker (R) is visiting each of Michigan's 15 universities this summer, and she stopped by the Public Radio 90 studios to talk to news director Nicole 

Walton about higher education funding, opioid abuse prevention, and her future plans.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
