Medical service bases chopper in Ontonagon

ONTONAGON, MI--   Aspirus MedEvac is expanding its medical transport services in the Upper Peninsula.

The Wisconsin-based helicopter service will establish a new ground base near Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital, including crew quarters and a new ambulance garage.  It will work collaboratively with the hospital, SONCO Ambulance, and local law enforcement to provide emergency transport services.

In 2012 Aspirus MedEvac became the first and only Wisconsin service to provide 24-hour emergency air and ground medical transport for the critically ill in the U.P.
