LUCE COUNTY, MI— Luce County is getting a grant from the Michigan Department of Transportation to make improvements to its freight rail corridor.
The Michigan Rail Enhancement Grant Program is giving the county $2.2 million for tie and ballast replacement and bridge repairs. The total cost of the project is $3.1 million.
Officials say the investment will improve rail safety, operational efficiency, accessibility, capacity, and condition.
