Bear ranch owners respond to violation allegations

NEWBERRY, MI— Oswald’s Bear Ranch has responded to allegations by the USDA that it has violated the Animal Welfare Act.

WLUC-TV says it received a statement from the Oswalds. They refute the accusations, saying a recent federal inspection found no areas of noncompliance with regards to housing or diet at the ranch.

They say they’re looking forward to their day in court to confront the complaints by PETA—People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.

The statement said, "Conservation and safety is our primary focus, as ‘Animal-Visitor Interactions’ continue to be a favorite family-friendly activity.”
