Marquette, MI - The Marquette Police Department is warning residents of a new phone scam. Officials say the department has received several recent complaints of a phone scam. The caller identifies themselves as a member of the Attorney Generals Office or from the office of the Michigan State Police. The caller will demand money and or personal information… and threatens the person called that if they do not provide payment, they will be arrested. The area code that has been showing up on caller ID from the suspect(s) is 8-5-0.
