Medical emergency blamed for Iron Mountain accident

IRON MOUNTAIN, MI--   A Dickinson County woman was involved in a single-vehicle crash in Iron Mountain Monday.

Michigan State Police say around 12:15 p.m. the 59-year-old Channing woman was westbound on US-2 near the First National Bank when she had a medical emergency. Her vehicle crossed the centerline, struck a construction barrel, drove across the lawn of Advance Auto Parts, and hit two unoccupied parked vehicles in the bank parking lot.

The driver was taken to Dickinson County Hospital for treatment.

The Iron Mountain Police Department, Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office, Breitung Township Fire Department and integrity EMS assisted at the scene.
